    Born in Scotland, Claire Kujundzic emigrated to B.C. at age five. Between and she lived in Nelson, where her father founded the Kootenay School of Art. The George Ryga Papers George Ryga, the author of Canada’s best known English-language play, The Ecstasy of Rita Joe, is one of Canada’s most prolific authors. In addition, he has written plays, two cantatas, five screenplays, two long-playing albums, three novels and a book of poetry.
